Dream Of The Tai Chi Sword
This project is a visual homage to my 80-year-old grandmother, who once practiced Tai Chi sword with strength and grace. Inspired by the aesthetics of martial arts films, the series reimagines her quiet daily life as scenes from an epic she never got to finish. Through surreal lighting and staged domestic rituals, I explore how memory, fantasy, and resilience intertwine. Though a leg injury has kept her from wielding the sword again, the spirit of the heroine lives on — in mirrors, kitchens, and fading posters. Dream of the Tai Chi Sword is both a personal mythology and a tribute to generations of women whose strength often goes unseen.
