Northwest Edge of London

(2022- present)

This is a long-term analogue project examining women’s presence and everyday labour across evolving multicultural neighbourhoods - Colindale, Burnt Oak, and Edgware. Moving through small businesses, local shops, parks, bus stops, and shared green spaces, the series looks at how communities are sustained through everyday care and informal work. I pay attention to how places are continually shaped by repeated gestures: waiting, carrying, selling, chatting, and looking after children. Working on film slows my pace and keeps me attentive to subtle shifts in light, distance, and mood. Together, these images form a quiet portrait of coexistence, ordinary at first glance, yet marked by adaptation, attachment, and belonging.
